Pismo Beach is located on California’s Central Coast about 10 miles south of San Luis Obispo.  Pismo Beach is a great place for a long walk on the beach.  Afternoons are the best time to visit the beach if you want to work on a tan or play in the surf because the morning coastal fog has usually lifted.  You can find surfers in the water in the early morning hours and throughout the day.   Avila Beach is in the same area about 6 miles south of San Luis Obispo.  Cambria is a quaint little coastal town about 40 miles to the north of San Luis Obispo along California’s Highway 1.  This area of the coast is about half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Pismo Pier 1.jpg

Pismo Pier 1:The Pismo Pier is popular with the fishermen (and fisherwomen).  There are always several people on the pier with their lines in the water.  Any trip to Pismo Beach should include a walk on the pier.
